Henna Cafe Marrakech

The Henna Cafe is an oasis of culture and comfort in the medina, offering delicious, traditional food and safe, beautiful henna in a social setting. All income from your experience is used to offer free education and assistance to those in need in our community.

The Henna Café was established in June 2011 by four UK business people who wanted to give back to Marrakech and Morocco. As riad owners and professional henna artists, they came up with the concept of the Henna Café.

Safe, Beautiful Henna
The Henna Café is proud to employ local women highly experienced in the art of henna. We use only safe, locally produced, all natural red henna. Our extensive collection of henna catalogues features designs donated by top henna artists from around the world. We provide guests with a personal aftercare service including a protective mitten/sock, lemon and sugar sealing, and printed aftercare instructions to ensure their design lasts as long as possible.

Delicious, Traditional Food
The Henna Cafe menu consists of native dishes like those found Berber homes across the south of Morocco, including many vegetarian options. We also offer coffee and a selection of Berber teas, as well as seasonal juices and smoothies. We serve lunch and dinner seven days a week on our sunny terrace or in our cozy salon. Our salon features rotating exhibitions by local Marrakechi artists, some of whom we have supported by donating artistic supplies.

Education Center
The Education Center offers a range of classes, seven days a week and free of charge to all. Our teachers are local and foreign volunteers, and our students are local residents of all ages and backgrounds. Although the most popular classes teach English, we also offer classes teaching French, German, and Spanish, as well as mathematics, philosophy, and more. Visiting the Henna Cafe is a way to be a responsible tourist and an opportunity to support the betterment of this amazing country.
