ENEWS Association is implementing a nine-month project entitled “The ENews Citizen Lab.” The project targets 50 young motivated Moroccan participants, with a special focus on female participants, from Zagora, Ouarzazate, Errachidia, Essaouira, and Agadir. It will reinforce their skills through a five-day workshop in journalism. After the training, the 50 participants will work on their personal projects on a topic of concern to their cities and communities. The project includes a competition in which the 50 participants will submit their work for a chance to win prizes. Their work can be either and Article, Photo, or Video. The best 15 projects will be selected for recognition during an award ceremony, in which participants will receive their diplomas.
Goals :
The objectives that the eNews Citizen Lab plans to accomplish are to
● Provide Moroccan youth (both female and male) with basic journalism skills to report in an objective manner about issues that affect their local communities.
● Promote citizen journalism and freedom of the press to make the Moroccan society more democratic by working towards transparency and accountability.
● Increase the journalism skills among the target audience by providing quality journalism trainings.
● Strengthening civic activity through journalism and media
