Cozy compny is a hostel in Taghazout, the surf area N° 1 in Morocco. We have all kind of accomodations and also offer surf camp services like surf lessons, day trips to the best surf spots, yoga lessons and other activites. Our prices are fair to give young people the opportunity to travel low budged, in the same time we guarrantee clean rooms and beds with sheets and hot showers and an awesome view on the ocean from our famous roof top terrace.

How it all started

Momo, the owner of cozy backpackers, is a young Moroccan who as a child came to Taghazout to surf. He and his brother soon started working for another hostel there and became interested in starting their own business. As their first hostel grew very well, Momo decided in 2014 that he could open his own one. That’s how the cozy backpackers was born. By the way: Momo’s girlfriend from Berlin found the name and it totally fits the atmosphere!

About Taghazout

Taghazout used to be a very old and simple fishermen village. In the 70ties some hippies and surfers discovered the awesome surf spots in that area. They loved it and many of them stayed or came back. Since that a lot has changed in Taghazout: It has become a carming mix of cultures and influences. The old houses with their beautiful tiles and traditional terraces gather with artfully painted walls, little handycraft shops and sweet little cafés. The beach is wide and sandy with a hand full of old wooden fishing boats, local kids playing football and surfers checking the waves. Along fishermen beach you can walk the promenade and find cafés with terraces directly above the waves. You can watch the surfers at hash point here and drink fresh pressed juices while showing off your new fancy sunglasses.
Every friday there is a little bazar with traditional Moroccan carpets, tea pots, spices, jewellery and other beautiful things at the main square. From there you can also take the bus or a taxi to Agadir or to Banana Village.
